St. Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church, Fox Street
1910 - 1941

The Friary and the Church of Our Lady of the Angels were opened by Archbishop Whiteside on 4 October 1910. They owe their foundation to the generosity of a convert, Miss Amy Elizabeth Imrie who was received into the Church in 1892. She devoted the financial means at her disposal of the building of a home for the Friars Minor in Liverpool and in due time the church and friary, designed by Pugin, arose on the site of the old Richmond Fair.
