A place of worship has existed here since the fifteenth century. Initially a chapelry to St Elphin's in Warrington, it was extensively rebuilt in the eighteenth century, when the bell tower was added. Further restoration took place in the 1870s, when it became a parish church, and again in the 1980s. The church website provides more information about the church, including a comprehensive history of the church and parish. |
