Urswick
Urswick is a large parish in Low Furness and the rural deanery of Ulverston. It is divided into four districts: Great Urswick, Little Urswick , Bardsea and Adgarley with Stainton. Nowadays, Urswick has largely become a group of commuter villages for Ulverston and Barrow-in-Furness. However, agriculture remains important, as evidenced by the farms between the villages. Great Urswick is prettily seated in a valley on the margin of a lake or tarn, about 3 miles south form Ulverston, the same distance north-east from Dalton and 7 miles east from Barrow-in-Furness. Little Urswick is about half a mile form Great Urswick and consists principally of the parsonage and the residences of several yeoman farmers.
