Body of William Dawson late of
Bent-head who departed this
Life the 12th day of July 1782, in
the 64th Year of his Age.
 
In his Life time a faithfull friend and
steady maintainer of the Purity of
Scripture Doctrine and Worship.
 
With heavenly weapons I have fought
Finished my Course and kept the Faith
And wait the sure Reward.
God has laid up in Heaven for me
A Crown which cannot fade,
The righteous Judge at that great Day
Shall place, it on my Head.
 
Also John his Son who died 22d Feby
1784, in the 39th Year of his Age.

21st 1821,
Aged 60 years.
 
She evinced through life a warm
attachment to the Church of Christ
formerly worshiping on this Site,
and at her death, made them the munificent
bequest of an Estate situated at Count-
hill near Oldham. With the proceeds of
this Estate, augmented by liberal
Contributions, they have erected their
present neat and commodious place of
Worship, and have placed this Stone to
perpetuate the Memory of their departed
Friend.
