Old Trafford |
Old Trafford began as a hamlet in the township of Stretford and lies South-West of Manchester city centre. Trafford is derived from the family name of ‘de Trafford’, landowners since medieval times. Their original home became known as Old Trafford Hall when they moved to a new home (New Trafford Hall) around 1700. Old Trafford has been home to the famous Manchester United Football club since 1910 and the Lancashire County Cricket Club since mid 19th century. |
