St Luke's Church was built as a chapel of ease to St Oswald's in Winwick, in 1732, and consecrated the following year. The registers were initially kept with those of Winwick, but later St Luke's became a parish under the Winwick Rectory Act of 1845.

A full history of St Luke's church is available on the church website
