The Church of St Thomas and the Holy Rood, Melling in the County of -- Lancashire --

St Thomas and the Holy Rood was created in 1810 as a chapel of ease lying within the boundaries of the Ancient Parish of Halsall. The present church of St Thomas was built in 1835, Architect J W Casson, to replace the ancient Holy Rood chapelry which was demolished in 1834.
