These Hawkshead Marriage Records are Bishops Transcripts covering the period 1837 to 1864 except for the following:-

All Marriage records for 1839 are missing, and this refers to estimated Register Pages 7 to 14 inclusive containing Entry Nos 13 to 28 inclusive of the original Register.

Entry Nos 211 and 212 (estimated Register Page no. 106) of the original Register are also missing and these occurred between 13 Nov 1852 and 23 Dec 1852.

All Marriage records in the Bishops Transcripts have Entry Nos which appear logically to match the Entry Nos of the original Register. The Register Page Nos are also in the Bishops Transcripts at the start but this does not continue consistently. This section of Bishop Transcripts begins with Page 1 and Entry No. 1 of a new Register on 13 July 1837. Page Nos are recorded only for Pages 1, 2, and 86-92, but these pages and the consistent recording of all the Entry Nos for the marriages gives confidence in assigning them page numbers expected in the original Register. Nevertheless, for anyone searching the original Register using information provided here, it must be born in mind that while Entry Nos were in the Bishops Transcripts, most of the page numbers have been estimated.
