This, and any further information found in the Bishop's Transcripts but not present in the transcribed registers, has been added to the data base. Some differences (e.g. in dates, names, abodes etc) were also found between the transcribed registers and the Bishop's Transcripts, and in these cases the different text from the Bishop's Transcripts is detailed in square brackets in the Notes. The Bishop's Transcripts also contained some Page and Entry numbers which are included. Church Council), the Parish of the bride or groom was recorded only if it
was not Hawkshead, so that the absence of a Parish name in the transcription
indicates that it was 'this Parish' or Hawkshead. Some records of this kind
remain in the data base even after all Parish information from the Bishop's
Transcripts has been included. This occurs where no Parish was recorded in
the Bishop's Transcripts, or an entire Entry was missing from the Bishop's
Transcripts.
