Burials at Independent Chapel
in the Township of Little Lever, Bolton le Moors

A register of deaths and burials opened in October 1927 continues into September 1959. There follows what appears to be an "unofficial" register recording deaths, burials and cremations from February 1947 into March 1986. An anonymous introductory note states:

"I have tried to enter the names of people who have been buried in the yard since 1947 Do not know all the addresses ; Or who the ministers where [sic] who officiated at the services."

The handwriting throughout the 1947-1986 register appears to be the same so presumably the register was compiled in 1986 or soon after. There is a partial overlap with the earlier register for records from the 1947-1959 period. We have added any extra information (mainly burial dates) in the "unofficial" register to the entries in the 1927-1959 register.
